“Celebrate Our Ancestors”

Historic Benton Hot Springs Non Profit is proud to offer an afternoon fundraising event "Celebrating Our Ancestors: Dedication of Benton Historic Cemetery", on Saturday, August 19th from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. at The Inn at Benton Hot Springs. The cost is just $75 per person. Tickets are limited so call now to reserve yours at (760) 933-2287.

Come join us as we honor our ancestors and celebrate the haunting traditions of times past! Highlights include stories of untimely deaths, funeral and burial traditions, and quite possibly visits from 'passed' residents of Benton communities. Key note speaker Rebecca Kinaston, a biological anthropologist, will share her experience of working with graveyards and thoughts about Benton Cemetery. Outdoor dining, music and a silent auction are also on tap!

Take a walk through the hilltop Cemetery where a tour will introduce you to many of the interesting citizens of the past. After your adventure, enjoy an enchanting evening of vintage cocktails, appetizers, and a formal dinner with music ‘under the stars’, offered in the scenic meadow adjacent to the Inn. And don’t forget to dress in period attire . . . get into the ‘spirit’ of the evening!

This event is sponsored by the Historic Benton Hot Springs Non Profit and is generously supported through a Mono County Economic Development, Tourism and Film Commission Historical Societies Grant. Proceeds from the event go to restoration and preservation efforts at the Benton Historic Cemetery.

Don't miss this unique and exciting evening, and help us ensure that this important and iconic landmark is protected for generations to come. Hope to see you there! For more information contact 760-933-2287
